Welcome to the first issue of the NAADS NEWS! This maiden issue is one in a series of quarterly releases that we plan to produce. The NAADS NEWS! is one way the Secretariat wishes to share with its stakeholders the processes, institutional performances and lessons learnt as the programme rolls out to cover the whole country.
Members of the Farmers’ Forum in Bukinda Sub County sitting in a meeting held on 4th March, 2003 at Bukinda Sub County head quarters, as a duly instituted forum representing the interests of Bukinda farmers, unanimously resolved to terminate the contract in passion fruits for a Service Provider, one Rugwiza.
Some of the reasons given by the farmers to terminate the contract included the failure by the Service Provider to adhere and fulfill his obligations of training and advising farmers on improved methods of fruit growing and better management practices as specified in the contract.
