Board of Directors

The governing body of NAADS is the Board of Directors. The NAADS Board was established by the NAADS Act June 2001 as a semi-autonomous body responsible to the Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries. The objectives of the Board include providing guidance on policy, co-ordination to the NAADS Programme; supervision and support to the NAADS Secretariat. It is also responsible for setting targets and approving work plans and budgets for NAADS. It was inaugurated on 26 February 2002. Mr.Mwalimu Musheshe Sr. is the Chair to the Board. It comprises of 15 Directors of which, ten are practicing farmers and represent various farmer /private sector constituencies. The remaining five are representatives from public institutions. Dr. Silim Nahdy Executive Director, NAADS
	Dr. M. Silim Nahdy is the Secretary to the NAADS Board and the Executive Director of the National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS). He is a farmer as well, with a farm in Mukono district comprising of Bananas, Oranges and Passion fruits enterprises. Before then, Dr Nahdy worked with the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) in various capacities; in particular he was the Director of Research and Head of the Post Harvest Programme of Kawanda Agricultural Research Institute (KARI). He has over twenty years of experience in Agricultural research and development.
