Project Monitoring Approach
The trained sub-county extension staff (ToT's) are expected to follow up farmers throughout the season. These ToT's are availed monitoring forms used to capture information on activities during seed production, seed produced and grain produced.
District Agriculture Officer (DAO) and District NAADS Co-coordinator (DNC) are trained and often the DAO is trained as a Subject Matter Specialist (SMS). The DAO/SMS and DNC supervise the activities of the sub-county ToTs and compile the information collected from the sub-counties.
The ZARDI's carry out adaptive research and technical backstop activities to districts
Since the National Team from MAAIF, NARO/NaCRRI and NAADS Secretariat are charged with the role of technical backstopping this project, the Zonal Supervision and monitoring meetings are used to share information and lessons learnt by the ToT's and the District staff while implementing the project activities.
