Welcome to NAADs

The National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) is a programme of the government of Uganda put in place to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of agricultural extension service. It is a semi-autonomous body formed under NAADS Act of June 2001 with a mandate to develop a demand driven, farmer-led agricultural service delivery system targeting the poor subsistence farmers, with emphasis to women, youth and people with disabilities. The Programme is currently in its Phase II implementing under the Agricultural Technology and Agribusiness Advisory Services (ATAAS) Project set up to support and strengthen implementation and collaboration between the full national programs of NARO and NAADS.

KILIMO TRUST HANDS 1000 RICE ADVICE VIDEOS TO NAADS

Kilimo trust has handed 1000 copies of rice advice farmer to farmer videos to the National agricultural advisory services to help both NAADS farmers and extension workers in enhancing rice production, handling and marketing. Receiving the videos on behalf of the NAADS Management, Mr John Wakikona the Head of Agri-business appreciated the initiative by Kilimo trust to ensure the rice advice videos reach the grass root farmers and also the translated languages being used to fit the Ugandan farmers. He said that this was the first visual initiative to enhance extension in Uganda. Read more…
